Title: Actor Wanted For New Web Series: Must be Able to do English Accent

Australiana Hostel is a Screen Australia funded web series written by Benjamin French and Tom Armstrong. Benjamin French is a successful stand-up comedian selling out shows at comedy festivals in Australia and worldwide. His Youtube channel ‘Frenchy SangaAttack’ has over 200,000 subscribers and 35 million views. Tom Armstrong is a writer/producer for The Roundabout Crew, whose own Youtube channel has over 65,000 subscribers and 6 million views. Together the guys produced a series of skits for ABC’s Fresh Blood imitative in 2014.

Australiana Hostel follows in their usual vein of uproarious humour. Tom and Frenchy are trying desperately to save their terribly-rated, failing Sydney hostel from closure. Or at least, that’s what Tom is trying to do. Frenchy has other ideas – namely how many women from different countries can he trick into bed?

Production on three episodes for the web series begins in late April and will conclude in early May.

This episode will be shot 20-22 April.

Once chosen by the director and writer you will be asked to come in for a read through sometime between March 21 – 24 to get to know the character (and us!) better.

This is a really fantastic opportunity to join some really cool people having lots of laughs. If you’re interested, apply now! There will be payment for this role.

William – British male role, one episode

William is English, posh, mid 20’s, upper-class, well-educated and a know it all. He is ‘slumming it’ as a guest at the Australiana hostel to prove to his girlfriend that he can ‘kick it’ with the commoners and is not up tight. He speaks in a very posh accent and often drops Australian lingo which he thinks makes him cultured but it comes across as very patronising and insulting.

Males, aged 22 to 27 from New South Wales, Australia
