We are looking for two actors for a short film called ‘The Bubble’. We study Film and Broadcast Production at London Met University and are currently working on our second year short production. The film will be approximately 6 minutes of length and filmed in a location and park in London.

The actors required;

Jane is an average 35 year old woman who suffers from the loss of her son, Stu. She lives with her daughter Alex, 10, and works as a teaching assistant. Jane was born and raised in a working class family in London and has not travelled outside the UK.
She is a motivated and appreciated worker and absolutely loves her job, but finds it hard to go to work after losing her son. Jane’s son drowned when they were in a park and Jane was reaching for her mobile phone to capture the moment on camera. Meanwhile Stu threw his teddybear into the pond by accident and tried to save it. When Jane realised this, it was too late and Stu couldn’t be saved.
Jane tends to return to the pond to look for her son. She might disappear for hours without telling anyone where she has gone. Alex has learned to look for her in the park and is the only person who can get through to Jane. Jane struggles overtime she realises she is dragging Alex through her own sorrows and she has failed to bring herself to work as well as Alex to school.

Alex is generally a happy child and enjoys everything girly. She has long beautiful blonde hair and loves to play with dolls and dress up and make up as her mother. She lost her brother when she was 8 years old and has felt lonely without having playing companion in the house. She is scared of swimming and taking baths as she was told her brother drowned when he reached for too far.
She gets good grades in school but lately she has been missing classes a lot due to her mother being incapable of bringing her to school and being overly protecting and not letting her go by herself. Alex’s best friend Laura lives next door but she rarely plays with her anymore as her mother don’t like the idea of not having Alex in the house at all times.
