‘My Dear Marionette’ is a short thriller/drama film about a promising young dancer who finds herself trapped under the dominating influence of her partner, a mere puppet in his plan to make it big. Blinded by the illusion of her first love, she allows herself to be victim to his torment.

The film has just entered pre-production, filming will commence in a few weeks. The filming will take place in Springfield Lakes and surrounding areas.

We are looking for both male and female dancers who have a history in acting. There are 2 lead roles and 2 supporting roles. Marion, Jason and Brent are the dancing roles.

It is unpaid, however, it’s an excellent opportunity to gain experience and will look great in a showreel. Lunch will be supplied for all shoots and rehearsals. We are aiming to submit this film into a festival.

Marion – Lead

Marion is very girl-next-door, quite shy and reserved. She’s naive and kind, but that allows her to be easily influenced. She just wants to make the people around her happy, often allowing that to come before her own happiness. She’s not a confident person in everyday life but when she’s dancing she’s strong and competent She has a petite build and a soft and kind face.

Jason – Lead

Jason is tall, always dresses sharp, muscular, always looks confident and in control. He is a sweet talker until things don’t go his way, then he has a short temper. Every aspect of his life (and Marion’s) has to be structured and done a certain way.

Brent – Supporting role

Brent is more casual than Jason. He’s laid back and seems to be the supportive friend. He also needs to be strong. He also comes across as a little creepy, because he takes advantage of Marion’s kind naive nature. He was always jealous of Jason’s relationship with Marion and knows he’s the better dancer and would be a better partner to her.
