DOP needed for short film shooting across the weekends of July 2016. We are looking at 5-6 days of shooting and have a budget of $400 per day.

Film details:
15 – 20 minute short film.
“Dancer” is a thriller set in the nocturnal underbelly of contemporary Melbourne. It tells the story of Richard, a disconnected hit man who strikes up an infatuation with Dallas, a stripper at a local club who has aspirations of becoming a ballet dancer. As he uncovers the violent and corrupt world she is enslaved by, he takes it upon himself to rescue her from her downward spiraling life at any cost.

Style:
Prima Lux Films are looking for a DOP with sharp eye for the neo noir style with a heavy 80’s influence. As the story takes place mainly during the night, we want to capture the neon lit underbelly of the city and strip clubs to evoke a “seedy” undertone.
The inspiration for the look and feel would be the styles of films such as DRIVE, Taxi Driver, Collateral and Nightcrawler
The film will also feature lengthy fighting and martial art sequences set within a strip club and nightclub – style like John WIck

Key Selection Criteria
*We are after someone who preferably owns their own gear/ lenses and has access to lights.
*Someone who has a keen eye for style and artistic flare
*Available for weekends and night shoots

If this sounds like you and you want to be involved, please apply now along with full contact details and a showreel that would best demonstrate your work to the style we are after.

NOTE
This short will be entered into international film festivals as well as a viewing from an agent at GERSH agency in Hollywood.

All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
