Title: Folk-style Singer Wanted for London Winter Concert

My name is Chris; I am a composer based in London and also the co-founder of a new contemporary music ensemble of around 10 orchestral instruments. We are putting on our first informal gig at around December time at a small location in London and for one of the pieces that is going to be written and performed, we are looking for a non-classical folk-style singer (or similar) who would like to sing with the band for a piece/set of songs that will be approximately 10 minutes long.

I say ‘folk-style’ but this can incorporate a lot of different types of voices; essentially I’m looking for a singer with an interesting-sounding voice to collaborate with on a piece that is going to be folk-inspired, atmospheric and a little bit experimental.

Because this is not a commercial/pop music type project, I’m looking for someone who has an has an open mind, thinks artistically, can bring good ideas to the music and won’t be afraid to do something a little less conventional, as the piece is going to fuse many elements of music together.

The singing part won’t be complex, but I would (ideally) like someone who can read music to aid the speed of learning the piece.

If you think you fit the bill, I’d love to hear from you! Please make sure to include some samples or web links to a few recordings of you singing.
