Dancewave seeks a talented Graphic Designer with a flare for marketing! The ideal candidate will have an ace design portfolio that displays ability to create compelling communication pieces including brochures, posters, flyers, booklets, web design, email design, social media graphics etc. The candidate should also have proven experience working with basic CMS based web platforms such as WordPress as well as email marketing tools such as Constant Contact. This is an excellent growth opportunity for an emerging career professional to gain hands on experience in marketing and design for a non-profit arts organization.
Essential Job Function:
Graphic Design: Print & Web
-Reports directly to the Executive Director but works in conjunction with other department heads including School, Outreach and Development.
-Designs & coordinates printing for all small and large-scale print collaterals that would aid marketing for various Dancewave events and classes throughout the year.
-Ability to create and maintain a strict production schedule in coordination with other department heads & printing vendors to ensure timely delivery of printed material.
-Design digital banners to be used on the Dancewave website & template e-blasts.
-Manage & update content to the Dancewave website as and when needed.
-Design & coordinate print and digital ads for various partners.
Marketing & Management
-Develop and manage a strategic marketing plan for the year including email scheduling, press scheduling, advertising & social media management with assistance from a marketing assistant and a marketing intern.
-Pro-actively learn/implement ways to optimize Google Adwords, Analytics as well as SEO.
-Manage the front end of Dancewave’s CMS based website.
-Create & Manage a team system to track and optimize marketing metrics on Analytics, Constant Contact, Adwords and Social Media.
-Be present at all team meetings that involve planning of an upcoming event/semester to spearhead marketing efforts.
-Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop software.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, PPT & Excel) as well as Google drive.
-Proficiency in handling CMS based web platforms as well as Email Marketing Tools.
-Highly computer savvy and enthusiastic to be able to research and implement marketing best practices through web and social media.
-Extremely organized and ability to manage a team of people.
-Highly Creative and an excellent written and verbal communicator to be able to process and bring new ideas to the plate in collaboration with other department heads.
-Entrepreneurial self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-High energy, maturity and able to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.
-Commitment to establishing departmental structures that increase marketing effectiveness.
-Resourceful team player with integrity, good humor and a level head.
-Exceptional attention to detail with high emphasis on deadlines and results.
-2-3 years of professional experience as Graphic Designer with a compelling design portfolio.
-Bachelor’s degree in design/marketing or higher.
-Knowledge in theory/practice of marketing for non-profit organizations.
Commitment & Compensation:
-Start Date: Feb 1, 2017
-$25 per hour, 25-30 hours weekly (On-site at least once a week)
-Schedule flexibility available.
