Diane von Furstenberg founded her eponymous line in 1972. It has since become a global luxury fashion brand celebrated for its bold and creative approach to color and print, and admired for its sensual femininity. Renowned for its iconic wrap dress and signature prints, DVF now offers a full collection of ready-to-wear and accessories, and has established itself as a leader of creativity in the fashion industry.
In May 2016, Jonathan Saunders joined DVF as the brand’s Chief Creative Officer, overseeing all design and creative. Founder Diane remains Chairman of DVF, and continues to devote much of her time to her many philanthropic endeavors.
The Intern will work closely with the VM team to gain an understanding of the role of Global Visual Merchandiser in terms of product display and 3D fixture design.
-Proficiency in the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
-Sketch up is a plus
-Visual Merchandising experience in some capacity (through retail jobs, internships, schooling, etc.)
-Familiarity with the DVF brand and its direction
-The ability to lift mannequins and props
-Must be at least 18 years old
-Must be enrolled in school and receiving college credits
-Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at the time of the internship
-Must have proper work authorization to work in the U.S.
– Supporting the team on store visits in the NYC area
– Supporting the team on seasonal showroom set-up
– Assisting the team in the creation of Visual Merchandising Guidelines (sample pulling and coordination, setup, photographing, document creation)
– Assisting the team with store photo editing and reporting
– Miscellaneous administrative duties
