DESCRIPTION

NOW CASTING: FoodPlay Productions, an Emmy-Award-winning company is casting for FOODPLAY, a fun-filled nutrition educational theater show featuring amazing juggling, colorful characters, motivating messages, music, magic, and audience participation to help children learn how to take charge of growing up healthy and fit.

Auditions will be held by appointment on Thursday, April 27th at the Simple Studios, 134 W. 29th St. NYC. To schedule an appointment, send headshot and resume by April 25th to auditions@foodplay.com. You may also request to schedule an audition at our headquarters in Hatfield, MA (Mon-Fri, 10am-6pm, by appointment only.) No phone calls please. Wear comfortable clothing; prepare a 2-minute, family-appropriate comedic monologue, perform a cold reading and demonstrate special skills. You will also be asked to sing a few bars, unaccompanied, from a song of your choice.

Seeking –

·               Coach: Male or female with an energetic physicality. Wants to inspire kids to learn how to be healthier in their daily lives, and does so without being a ‘teacher’. Has ability to performer to a room full of kids while still maintaining control over show. Fun and lovable, yet firm and patient. Must be willing to learn basic juggling. 

·               Janey/Johnny: Male or female with basic juggling, youthful appearance and energy. Excited to learn from Coach and is ‘one of the kids’ without trying to be too young or patronizing. Upbeat and falsely confident in an endearing and fun way. Discovers throughout the show that they may not be as healthy as they thought. Must be willing/able to learn advanced juggling. Other special skills (dancing, beat boxing, etc.) a plus.

·               Both actors must be able to present a good role model for young children, have a strong speaking voice, great stage presence and an interest in working with children. Both actors MUST be over 18 and have a valid driver’s license. Both actors must be able and willing to lift heavy objects, complete paperwork, and comfortable speaking with contacts at shows.

 

Rehearsals will be in September 2017; performances run September through December 2017 at schools across the US. Pay, travel, lodging, and on-the-road per diem included in contracts.
