Outreach Coordinator

Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, seeks a dynamic self-starter to join our team to coordinate outreach to the multiple facets of the dance community, increasing fundraising and awareness of our missions. This person will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of audience appeals with professional and student organizations, and our dance student outreach project, a national fundraising initiative for private, high school and collegiate dance programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Recruit and coordinate audience appeals by professional dance companies and dance schools nationwide, and dance venues and companies performing in New York City
Manage existing and recruit new relationships with dance teachers, schools, performance venues, college dance clubs, departments and organizations to help increase fundraising efforts
Attend dance festivals, conventions, intensives and performances when necessary to cultivate and steward relationships
Coordinate all student events
Develop new fundraising initiatives that engage dancers, teachers and parents
Coordinate volunteers for events and audience appeals
Process payments and data entry associated with student events, donations and appeals
Manage Web content for  for all DRA student events
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team that collaborates to produce events and fundraise in a variety of ways
Assist in events, including some physical labor
Assist with special projects as assigned
Participate with the entire staff in facilitating Broadway Cares’ annual audience appeals, which take place in New York City for two six-week fundraising periods

Qualifications

Ability to multitask without compromising quality of work
Exceptional attention to detail
Excellent written communication, planning and organizational skills
Confident public speaker with the ability to inspire listeners to action
Understanding of and appreciation for dance, both educational and professional
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
Demonstrated ability to think creatively
Willingness to assist, support and do whatever needs to be done
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to work nights and weekends, as needed
Flexibility, personal drive and initiative, unending curiosity and a sense of humor
Passionate commitment to the mission of Dancers Responding to AIDS, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the people we help and the organizations we support
Excellent interpersonal skills
Affection for dogs
