Every year we celebrate the New Year, Nowruz, it is the day that marks the beginning of the year in the Persian Calendar and the first day of spring.Nowruz is celebrated in many countries, from Iran, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Albania, Georgia to some communities in Iraq, Pakistan, Turkey, and also in various Central Asian countries such as Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

Nowruz is not only the occasion to celebrate the New Year, but is a great opportunity to reach out to the Afghan and Central Asian community in South East London. During this ancestral festivity, our purpose is to promote Nowruz values of peace and solidarity between generations and within families as well as reconciliation and neighbourliness. Celebrating Nowruz means to contribute to cultural diversity and friendship between different communities and among people. Furthermore it is a chance to raise money for a good cause. This year Nowruz event will be on the 25th of March from 6-11 pm. The Venue will be the Haberdashers Aske’s Hatcham College. We are expecting about 350 guests

As we are a small Charity we can not offer any fees for your performance. However we may be able to cover transportation costs up to 50 £ and we will provide dinner.

We would be very grateful if you could consider this nevertheless as it could be a promotion of your business and arts as well.
