Andy and Sarah have given up hope on ever seeing their father return home from military service. One stormy night, they witness a strange figure fall from the sky into the nearby woods. They race out to investigate and discover it’s their father – bruised, bloody and with wings.
This is a volunteer project for all of us, so we’re looking for cast who would like to come along for the adventure and meet some like-minded people. The idea is to use this short film as a way to generate interest in the feature film version. That’s how our crew was able to get our first feature ARROWHEAD off the ground; proof-of-concept shorts are a great way to demonstrate the talents of all involved.
We require three actors for roles, available over the Easter weekend (March 25, 26 and 27). The location is in Hill End, Victoria on a beautiful farm property. The story is set during the 1950s so it is a good opportunity to be involved with an emotional and exciting period piece with a fantastical element.
All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Sarah needs to look on the young side (so older 17 year olds need not apply). Her character is troubled and struggling to cope with the disappearance of her father, though she still holds hope that he might return. Some dialogue is required, so she must be comfortable in front of a camera.
Females, aged 12 to 17 from Victoria, Australia
Minimum Acting experience:
No previous acting experience
The father in this story is a military test pilot who has gone missing during service and is presumed dead. When he returns home during a storm, he has been surgically grafted with angelic wings on his back. The actor needs to be comfortable shirtless and only wearing shorts (to be covered up with wings) during this scene in the short film. We require an actor with a kind and healthy look, and one who is comfortable with dialogue and working with children.
Males, aged 30 to 45 from Victoria, Australia
No previous acting experience – Previous unpaid speaking roles
