We are coming to the end of filming our next feature film, and we’ll be filming a scene where our lead actors are at the fictitious “Adelaide Same-sex Dance Awards Night”. Filming will be this Friday evening 11th March. The location is in Port Adelaide (only 15 minutes’ drive from the city).

The scene involves people doing same-sex swing dancing on a social night (the competition night has supposedly already happened). We will have a band performing live on stage. It will be a fun night, with refreshments provided.

Even if you’re not a swing dancer but are a competent dancer, we should have someone who can teach you the moves during rehearsals from 7pm to 8pm, followed by filming from about 8pm. We expect to finish around 11pm.

Please dress to impress, as this scene is a gala awards night.

This film “Hand Grenade” is a gay-themed, family relationship drama, including an ensemble cast. It centres on a lesbian with her younger gay brother who live in one house with their respective partners. While trying to have a baby with her brother’s partner, they have a metaphorical hand grenade thrown into their lives with the unexpected arrival of a teenager on their doorstep. Director – Paul Dangerfield. Producer – Colin J. Pearce. It is a South Australian script by writer Genevieve McQueen. The script has been polished by award-winning script consultant Ren Thackham. We’re very confident in the quality of this script, and believe it has great potential.

Sorry – no-one under 18 years old, please. Must bring photo ID proof of age, and be prepared to sign a release form (of course).
