Logline: After her disabled brother wanders off during the night, a struggling older sister must find him before he spends all her pension money.

This is a 5min short film to be entered into the Sydney Road Short Film Competition.

Filming dates & times are currently (approx)
– Sunday 27 March 10pm – 2am
– Monday 28 March 10pm – 2am
Obviously actors must be available for these dates.

Shooting will be done in Brunswick, in and around Sydney Road.

SAL – the older sister

SAL (65 years old) is the older sister of Jimmy and she has mobility issues.

Sal is on a disability pension and may well be overweight.

In the script she rides an electric mobilty scooter (provided) – you will need to be comfortable driving one of these (they aren’t hard 🙂

She may also have a dog – (do you have a dog?)

There is a lot of latitude on how you want to play this role, but life has treated Sal a rough hard, and now she has her brother living with her

BILLY – intellectually disabled young brother

BILLY (54 years old) is the younger brother of Sal, and he is intellectually disabled.

He has lived his whole life with his mother until she died 2 weeks ago, and now he lives with his sister Sal.

He has a good heart and is disoriented after death of his mother

He may also have a dog – (do you have a dog?)

There is a lot of latitude on how you want to play Billy – he is sweet, a little cheeky, a little bit comical and he want to go home to his Mum.

RAJIV (30 – 60 years old) works at the take away Kebab shop on Sydney Road.

He is honest, hardworking and is happy to assist SAL in her hour of need.
