We are seeking two actors to play quirky characters, Joy (female, 20s, an emoji) and Poo (male, 50s, an emoji) in “Mediation”, a web series created by RMIT students in Melbourne. These characters will be wearing masks for the duration of the episode so the actors’ faces will not be seen. For this reason we are looking for actors with strong body language and voice skills. Shooting will take place on Monday 9 May 2016 at RMIT in the city. A rehearsal time will be negotiated with the successful candidates for the week prior. The time commitment will be approx. 3 hours for rehearsals and 3 hrs for filming. The action will be shot all in one take so you will need to know your lines. Auditions will take place on Wednesday 20th April 2016 at RMIT in the city. Please respond only if you have a show reel and you’re willing to volunteer your services for one of these roles. Suitable candidates will be contacted with further information.

“Mediation” Synopsis:
Since the local legal-aid centre has introduced a Mediation service, things have never been so busy. Suddenly everyone in the area has a dispute that needs settling and the team of mediators have their hands full. No dispute is too small or trivial for a mediator to step in. Each episode is 3 minutes in duration, to be shot in a professional TV studio. The series will consist of up to 30 episodes. There will be three actors performing around a table for each episode. Screenplays have been written by students from the Advanced Diploma of Professional Screenwriting, RMIT University. It will be shot in the RMIT TV studios by the students of the Certificate IV of Screen and Media (Television Production). Students will be closely supervised by TV production and sound production teachers. The series will be launched to the internet in the second half of 2016 and will also be screened on Channel 31.
