A fresh-faced and upbeat male presenter aged 19 – 30 is needed for a documentary about the rising Youtube ‘eating and drinking challenges’ phenomenon of recent years.
The successful candidate should be confident, friendly, well-spoken and approachable. They should be happy to present onscreen, to provide voice-over narration for the film, to occasionally travel outside of London for some interviews and to be the proud face of our new contemporary documentary.
To be considered, please provide examples of your previous presenting work or another video that you feel is relevant to the role. Audio examples of narration or voice-over work would be very beneficial too! We need to be able to see that you are a confident public speaker and see your proven interviewing skills.
– About The Project:
The documentary will be between 30 and 45 minutes long. Our aim is to direct the finished film towards a relevant online channel like Vice, BBC Three or Channel 4.
The film will look at what it’s like to be a career ‘Youtuber’ and to regularly take part in extreme online challenges. The film will focus mainly on extreme eating and drinking challenges. The film will also ask: Why is this strange trend so popular on Youtube and where did it all start? How do you go about getting noticed and getting subscribers? How can these types of Youtube channels end up being very profitable? When does being a Youtuber go from being a hobby to being a full time job? What are the long-term and short-term upsides, perks, downsides and risks of partaking regularly in these extreme challenges? What is the financial risk and health risk for the body? What do the families and friends of these Youtubers really feel about their extreme online careers? And what does the future look like for this unusual yet continuously rising Youtube fad?
Production will commence from late April 2016.
Shoot dates will vary and this will be an ongoing project, with shooting dependent on when interviews can be arranged with the Youtubers and other interviewees. We therefore ask that you can please commit to being available at relatively short notice and for the full duration of the project, though we will aim to work around everyone’s schedules where possible.
Payment details coming soon.
