“Displaced has dramatic and emotional tones, but elements of comedy and raw humour. This combination will give the audience an interesting perspective, with lots of laughter”

DISPLACED is a Drama/Comedy about two 12-year-old boys, HAKIM & ANTHONY. They are first generation Australian-Lebanese, who are feeling displaced in their current homes in Sydney. The feeling of exclusion leads them to run away in search of Lebanon, where they believe their true home to be. We meet them in the point of their lives where their journey starts, with a surprisingly master plan to get to where they want to go. But they where not prepared for difficulties on the road…

THE DIRECTOR: My name is Christian. I’m 25 years old, and a creative and positive filmmaker who is finishing my film studies at Sydney Film School. I have previous experience with filmmaking and directing. I’m well-prepared, and mindful and kind to those around me. I always make sure the cast and crew are feeling happy and comfortable. I’ve put a lot of heart in this film, because through my own experience have felt similar displacement. My parents fled the war in Lebanon during the 80s, to move to Sweden, where I was born and raised. It hurts when people in Sweden tell me that I should “go back” to my home country. This is something common for many people around the world. We ask ourselves: “Where do I belong, or am I simply forever displaced?” – that’s what the main characters are asking too!

THE CREW: We are an amazing matured crew with different type of people. Everyone is talented and organized and we will aim to make the shootings go smoothly and fun.

SCHEDULE: Auditions and rehearsals in April. 1-2 shooting days, early-mid May.
