Synopsis: Bad Coffee is a story about two very different and damaged women, Violet “Tuck” Tucker and Ashley Conway, falling in love with each other and having to learn that sometimes love is not enough if it means losing yourself. It is a love story even in its most tragic and heartbreaking moments, but at its core, it is also an uplifting journey of self-discovery told through the lens of recognizing and owning your weaknesses, allowing recovery and making yourself healthy. And while not every tale ends happily, the lesson learned is that the need to forgive yourself and allow yourself to live and begin again can heal you if you let it.
Underlying message: Never giving up on yourself no matter how many times life throws you to the ground.

This mental health-led drama focuses on the dysfunctional relationship between Tuck and Ashley and how they evolve from being passionately in love to descending in a downward spiral.

The short film is a final year dissertation project by two filmmakers in a BA Film degree. It will be shot by a professional DoP and will be sent to film festivals when it is finalized.

It requires a makeup artist that can do credible SPECIAL EFFECTS as the character of Ashley possesses self-inflicted cuts on her arm and her appearance is drastically different from Tuck, because she suffers from heavy depression and an undiagnosed bipolar disorder.

Only experienced applicants with special effects background are going to be considered.

The SHOOTING WEEK is from the 7th to 13th of March 2016 (it will NOT be the whole week, but specific amount of days to be defined) and it will pay the makeup artist £85, for the whole shooting period, along with FREE FOOD on set.

Transportation costs are covered by the applicants, solely.

INTERVIEWS will happen next week between 23rd and 25th February, or the following week dependant on schedule from both parties involved.
