Set in an abandoned theatre, the video will begin with the band playing with a very desaturated visual style. A ‘painted man’ covered in paint walks in (also in the theatre) and sets down numerous powdered paints on a table. We then introduce numerous creatives, who begin their craft; a writer sits at a typewriter, a burlesque dancer strings up her corset, a painter begins to set up his easel and a violinist tunes her violin.
The various creatives (along with the band) then begin to have the powdered Holi powder/paint blown in behind them, eventually covering themselves too. As the video continues, the creatives continue, undeterred and as they continue their craft, more and more paint covers them as they open themselves up to the passions and colours in their life.
At the moment, we’re looking at casting for the ‘Painted Man’, writer, violinist and the artist. The shoot date is on Sunday 21st February in Burslem, Stoke on Trent. We’ll hold auditions at our offices in Basford, Stoke on Trent on the afternoon of Thursday the 11th, and the morning of Tuesday 16th. We’re also open to Skype auditions.
We won’t need to hold rehearsals before hand, though the director will co-ordinate heavily beforehand with the cast with regards to performance and preparation.
As the project is self funded, unfortunately none of the cast or crew are being paid for it, however the video will be being submitted to TV stations & will be marketed heavily online, along with radio pluging & PR campaigns for the track. Needless to say it can be used for showreels to your heart’s content. Travel expenses will however be covered.
