Logline:
A robotic personal helper believing itself to be in a relationship with its owner is driven to madness when introduced to his actual girlfriend.

Short Treatment:
It’s 2036. Robots have become common household appliances capable of performing any basic task required by their owner. HelpR, a top of the line machine with advanced intelligence, dexterity and thrusters that allow her (yes, it’s a her) to fly with perfect precision, seems to have gotten her wires crossed somewhere down the line as she has become infatuated with her owner, DAVID HILL (33), and believes they are in a loving relationship.
This delusion is brought into question for S.A.M. when she is casually introduced to her owner’s new girlfriend, JENNIFER COOK (30). HelpR shows little resentment to the man that is cheating on her, he can do no wrong, but the girlfriend is treated with a cold hostility.
HelpR tries to drive the girlfriend away with ever-increasing aggression. Jen struggles to understand this at first but, when HelpR goes too far one day, she comes to understand the situation and decides that the robot has to go…or she will.

HelpR Profile:
HelpR (1)
HelpR, one of thousands of ‘HelpR Units,’ is part of the fourth generation of personal assistance robots manufactured by RTI Industries and as such has been carefully engineered to serve its owner. Unfortunately, nobody told this particular unit precisely what her (yes, it is a her) origin was or what her place was in the world and this results in her believing her relationship with her owner is in fact a romantic one.
This love for her owner pushes her to be extremely possessive of him, to resent the other people in his life and, above all, to hate all those that threaten their love. But, behind all this HelpR somehow remains an undoubtedly cute, charmingly childish robot whose innocence you can’t help but love, even if you do fear her madness.

Proposed shooting dates are between 7th November – 10th November. This will take place entirely in a ‘Home’ location and surrounding properties. Travel expenses paid if needed.

Male needed for Dark Comedy…David , 33.

David doesn’t consider himself to be a particularly remarkable person; he’s not. He’s a middle class, middle management, middle of the road type person who will never have any great contribution to give the world, but then again, who does? He accepts this and is quite happy knowing that nothing fantastical will ever happen to him. Would he believe it if it did?
The one thing that does stand out about David is that he’s an excellent boyfriend. He is attentive, kind and an honest person…

Female needed for Dark Comedy…Jennifer, 30.

Jen was once a typical girl next door. She’s smart but not nerdy, attractive but not self-obsessed and fun but not funny. Having lived a free and happy life up to this point, Jen is now for the first time looking to settle down and begin living a more relaxed life…but nothing is that easy, is it?
