At least three musicians required in setting up a new functions band, based out of Glasgow, Scotland with the intention of gigging around the UK from late 2016 or early 2017. The repertoire will be built around modern pop and dance songs – catering to younger private clientèle as well as live night club and festival gigs. An example of an act we are looking to emulate are ‘Bounce’, who started off as a pop function band and most recently have just finished a tour of gigging at apres-ski bars across the French Alps – see link upon application

The band is being established by the singer-to-be, who has experience in both public and private functions/gigs. The band will then be listed with and managed by an online listing agency – subject to successful auditions. The goal is to earn musicians in the region of £200 per musician per gig – after a few weeks/months of gigging and subsequent positive testimonials. Applicants must realise that successful function bands can charge a lot of money for their time, but do not happen overnight. Regular rehearsals will be required before performing live, and the first few live performances will likely be for low pay as we iron out any kinks before opening up to the wedding and functions market. Please do not reply if you do not have sufficient time to commit to this project.

Musicians required:

Drummer – The drummer will have the most demanding role in the band. As backing tracks will be used the drummer will need to play to a click track, and have experience in setting up their equipment to facilitate this. The ideal candidate will (though not all of these are essential):
– Have experience in playing to a click track, in addition to experience playing live.
– Own their own kit, possibly including electronics required to facilitate backing tracks, and know how to set-up and use that equipment.

Bass Guitar – We are looking for a young and talented bass guitarist. You will play a crucial role in every single song so consistency and reliability is key. The ideal candidate will:
– Have experience playing live.
– Play bass to an intermediate standard or higher.

Lead Guitar – The lead guitar player will be responsible for all major riffs and melodies, except for those played on synths in the original tracks. You may need to improvise, or compose your own solos to the pre-selected tracklist in advance. The ideal candidate will:
– Have experience playing live.
– Play guitar to a high standard.

Possible other instruments to be included after the bands initial inception and selection may include a sound engineer, saxophone, pianist/synth player and lead female vocal.

Auditions are expected to take place late-May to early-June.
