TEACHER: The New York Chinese Cultural Center (NYCCC), is a non-profit cultural and educational institution, is dedicated to deepening the understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture in the global and local communities. NYCCC’s School of the Arts offers a comprehensive curriculum of Chinese dance, martial arts, Beijing opera acrobatics and weaponry, Chinese language, ink brush painting, and paper cutting for students of all ages.
WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING several knowledgeable and professionally trained Chinese dance teacher. The right candidate must have prior experience with teaching children, be fluent in English and Mandarin, and have strong class management skills. Teaching schedule includes 1 hour class(s) on weekends, as well as setting dance repertories for the annual student recital. Salary is negotiable in person.
DANCER: The Manhattan-based DANCE CHINA NY, the resident touring company at the New York Chinese Cultural Center, was founded in 1973 in New York City’s Chinatown. DANCE CHINA NY’s dancers include internationally-renowned artists from performance stages and academies throughout mainland China, Taiwan and the U.S.
WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING for professionally trained male and female Chinese dancers, acrobats and peking opera performers. The performances include regular Arts-In-Education assembly performances in public schools, cultural and art institutions, as well as special project for large-scaled events. Possibilities with teaching/assisting at workshops and residencies in NYC.
