Casting Call for Extras for TV Show Mercy Street in Virginia
The PBS series “Mercy Street” is now filming its second season and casting directors are looking for kids, teens and adults to be extras in the show. “Mercy Street” is filming in Virginia and the casting team is looking for local actors for the paid roles that will be shooting in June.
About “Mercy Street”
Inspired by real people and events, Mercy Street goes beyond the front lines of the Civil War and into the chaotic world of the Mansion House Hospital in Union-occupied Alexandria, Virginia. , Mercy Street takes viewers beyond the battlefield and into the lives of Americans on the Civil War home front as they face the unprecedented challenges of one of the most turbulent times in our nation’s history.
What They Are Looking For
Casting directors will be holding auditions this Friday for roles that will be shooting next June 6th, 7th, 13th, 15th and 16th depending on the role. The shoot is taking place in Richmond and Petersburg, Virginia. If you are not local to the Virginia, please do not email the casting director to apply.
The non-union rate is $64/8. They have the union people booked for this shoot, so you must be non-union to apply. This will be a full day shoot so you must be available the entire day and evening since they don’t yet know the end time.
SUBJECT: SLAVES (working near Richmond, June 6-7) – Black men, women and children. Ages 6 and older. This is a small, intimate scene in a “pen.”
SUBJECT: FARMER’S TEENAGE SON – (working near Richmond, June 6-7) white male, age 13-16.
SUBJECT: BESSIE (working near Richmond, June 6-7) – Black female age 18 looking younger, to play a teenager. Acting experience required. In the interview, you will be doing improvisation with me.
SUBJECT: BRITISH OFFICERS/ UNION OFFICERS/ CIVILIAN MEN (working near Richmond, June 9) – white males 20-50. Hair not too short on the civilians. Everyone must be willing for a trim, if needed. Facial hair a plus.
SUBJECT: LORD EDWARD’S SERVANT – (working near Richmond, June 13) white male, 20s.
SUBJECT: REBECCA’S CHAPERONE – (working in Petersburg, June 15) – black female 30s
SUBJECT: MRS. BLANKENSHIP – (working in Petersburg, June 15) – white female 40-50s
SUBJECT: UNSAVORY THUGS – (working in Petersburg, June 16) – white males, 30s-50s. Character faces, facial hair, hair not past your shoulders.
