I’m a mature student (44), halfway through a Masters Degree in film with Raindance & Staffordshire University.
I have written & will be directing a short film entitled ‘Para-Hysteria’ which explores how the media unconsciously shapes our opinions; especially in regard to stereotypes.
We are shooting on the weekend of 2nd/3rd April in & around Derby. You would be required on both days from around 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
I have cast all roles with the exception of this one, as the actor who originally was going to play it, can’t make it now.
There will be no scripted dialogue as the focus is on telling the story visually. However, I will be asking the actors to improv in certain scenes.

I have a 3rd year BA student as my DoP & he has access to some pretty decent gear, so we should end up with a decent final result.
It is my intention to submit it to some Festivals once it has been completed; possibly even Raindance itself.

I’m currently unemployed, so this is unpaid work, but I have put money aside to feed/water the cast & crew.

Adam is just an ordinary young man. He has a job, plays sports, & hangs out with his best mate, Curt. They both like to chill out & smoke weed. Adam is also First Aid trained & will help anyone out if it’s in his power to do so. In Para-Hysteria we will see Adam & Curt chilling out in one scene as the lead character passes them & then in the final scene Adam will be trying to save the life of someone the lead has attacked.
